Award winning TV Host & Producer

Biography

fio
“I feel so lucky to do what I do for a living.” Fiona is best known for her many years on Shaw TV’s THE RUSH and loves her work: “I get to meet so many interesting people every day and hear their stories. I’ve lost count, but I think I’ve interviewed over 20,000 people over the last 18 years!”

Since the early days of her career when Regis Philbin told her “You’ve got something kid!”, she knew that making a turn (on a whim) in her career choice felt right. Having received a degree in History at the University of British Columbia, she had planned to go to Law School and instead decided to enroll in the Journalism Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Before graduating from the program, Fiona got her first job by accident when she auditioned on a dare and landed an on camera gig as a TV host.

She is both a proud fashionista and a geek…perhaps best described by Hollywood guru Larry Moss who called her a woman with “chutzpah who reminds me of Lucille Ball”. In addition to THE RUSH, Fiona has also hosted several other shows including DAYTIME on Rogers, AUTOMOTIVE MORNING on Life Network and BREAKFAST TELEVISION on City-TV. She has appeared as a guest on MARILYN DENIS, CBC NEWSWORLD, CBC RADIO and on CKNW’s THE SHIFT as a contributor and fill in host for her former co-host and friend Michael Eckford.

While Fiona loves her work, her passion lies with supporting many charities with her talents. Among her favorites are the CKNW Orphan’s Fund, Pink Shirt Day, Variety Club, Timmy’s Telethon and Easter Seals.
